PLACE OF REFUGE
In our earlier history, when people's lives were filled with fear, ignorance and superstition, violence, war and pillage, the silent monastery was a place where the great values of society, God-conscience, science thrived.
We are firmly convinced that those values fostered by monastic life (outlined under “Philosophy”) and such places will be society's next great need. We especially wish to establish a place where free spiritual life can be nurtured, empowering people's spirituality, who will be of service, and thereby transforming our materialistic culture and make a new culture flourish. The literature of spiritual science (for example the work of Rudolf Steiner, Edgar Cayce or from the Buddhist tradition etc.) will be an essential part of the centre. Those who seek this knowledge will be able to find it in the form of physical books and not only in digital replication. In this way this particular knowledge is protected against any negative digital or energy catastrophe. The new centre will facilitate longer or shorter periods for contemplation or study. An inspiring example for us is the house of Maximilian Woloshin on the Black Sea, where Sergej Prokofieff – in spite of the regime of those days – could study Rudolf Steiner’s works.
